Chikaku Makku is an app to find the nearest McDonalds in Japan. The information is in Japanese, but you use the map function and see opening hours even if you don't speak Japanese.
With a database of over 3000 locations, you'll always be able to find a burger and fries. The app launches fast and can locate the nearest McDonalds in a few seconds (depending on your device getting a GPS fix, of course). It can work without internet access (except for the maps) so you can use it on an iPod Touch in areas where WiFi location is available. You can send the details of a place by email (in Japanese) if you want to meet a friend at a particular restaurant.

Feb 2012: A new version has been submitted to the App Store, with even more locations that before, and easy viewing of drivethru and breakfast availability

Zooming in and out adds and removes pin locations so you don't get overwhelmed by the 3000+ locations.
